Deal or no deal that’s the question?
As you know we all have uncertainty on a deal no deal with the EU. Unfortunately this also affects customers that have a .eu domain that’s being used for a UK person or business.
What this means is that once out of the EU any UK business or individual will have no rights to a .EU domain as we are no longer a member.
Currently 2 scenarios exist which is dependant on an agreed transitional period or we just drop out of the EU with no deal.
If we leave with a no deal then by the 30th May 2019 your domain will be cancelled.
If you have a .EU domain and have a seperate dwelling in a EU country, then we recommend that you change the registration contact details to reflect this sooner than later. Also as a business user the same applies.
Below we have added the link to the Eurid communication regarding this.
If you are a UK company or individual, we strongly recommend that you don’t order a .eu domain, even if we leave with a deal there will be uncertainty in the future.
