Google has decided to close down Google Wallet after November 20th 2013 for any business that’s selling services or products other than didgital goods. We have always partnered with Google and PayPal over the years, as they are trusted payment gateways that everyone knows and trusts. However over the years clearly PayPal has been by far the most popular, and Google have decided to throw in the towel.

Below is the dates that are of importance to you based on the Google timeline, however we will discontinue Google order availability before this date as we don’t want to run transactions right up to the final day for credit and timezone reasons.

Google Dates to note

  • May 20th, 2013 Last day to sign up for Google Checkout
  • November 20th, 2013 Last day to charge orders
  • November 21st, 2013 Last day to ship orders
  • November 27th, 2013All outstanding orders will be cancelled
  • December 20th, 2013Last merchant refunds permitted through Checkout

We are currently looking at a number of payment gateways that will fill the small gap that Wallet has left and further compliment PayPal and give our customer an alternative choice.

We will be looking for a Credit Card gateway as opposed to a signup process to make the transaction as easy as possible, although you can use PayPal to pay via credit card without having an account.

We will keep you updated in due course on our chosen partners. As always if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to drop us a ticket for a quick response.
